Terms of use

The rules for playing Critter Odyssey. They're short because the game is simple: it's free, there's nothing to buy, and everyone should be able to enjoy it.

Agreeing to these terms

Critter Odyssey is made by Kedos (Kedos Consulting Limited), "we" and "us" on this page. By playing Critter Odyssey you agree to these terms. If you're under 13, or under the age your country sets for agreeing to things like this, ask a parent or guardian to read them with you.

If you downloaded the game from the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies as well. Where the two differ, these terms add to Apple's rather than replace them.

Play safely

Critter Odyssey is played by walking around the real world. You're responsible for your own safety while you play.

• Look up. No Critter is worth stepping into a road for.
• Never play while driving, cycling or riding anything.
• Stay out of places you aren't allowed to be. Critters and arenas are placed from public map data and can land on private property, building sites, railways or water. If you can't reach one safely and legally, leave it.
• Younger players should play with a grown-up who knows where they are.

Zero tolerance for abuse

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive players in Critter Odyssey. You must not:

• choose a trainer name that is offensive, hateful, sexual or threatening, or that contains personal details such as a full real name, an address or a phone number;
• pretend to be another player, a real person, or us;
• harass, bully, follow or intimidate anyone, in the game or in person;
• cheat, including faking your location, automating play, or tampering with the game or its server.

We review reports within 24 hours. A trainer who breaks these rules can be renamed, removed from the shared world, or banned permanently, without warning.

Reporting and blocking

If another trainer's name or behaviour bothers you, report or block them:

• Tap their trainer on the map, or open Trade, then tap ⋯ next to their name.
• Or tap your trainer picture at the top left of the map, choose Other trainers, then Report a trainer.

Reporting someone blocks them too. A blocked trainer disappears from your map and can't trade with you, and you disappear from theirs. You can unblock them from your trainer picture, under Other trainers. You can also email support@kedos.co.uk.

Your account

Your trainer is linked to Game Center, to the device you play on, or to Sign in with Apple if you choose to link it. You can delete your trainer and everything the server holds about you at any time: tap your trainer picture, then Delete my account and all my data. The privacy policy explains exactly what that removes.

We may remove an account that breaks these terms.

Critters and items

Critters, food, Orbs and everything else you collect are part of the game. They aren't property, have no money value, and can't be sold or exchanged outside the game. Most of what you collect is saved on your device, so deleting the app or clearing your browser's data can lose it.

The game can change

We may change, pause or stop Critter Odyssey or any part of it, and we can't promise the shared world will always be online. The game is provided as it is, without any promise that it will be free of faults, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Carrying on playing after a change means you accept the new terms.
